CSM Juan S. Esquivel


CSM Juan S. Esquivel entered the military in 1987 with the Texas National Guard. He attended basic training at Fort Dix New Jersey, and attended AIT at Fort Eustis VA as an Aircraft Electrician. CSM Esquivel transfer to the Minnesota National Guard in September 1988 as an aircraft electrician in Fco 147th AVN, which is now the Bco 834th ASB. CSM Esquivel attended the ITT Technical Institute and earned an Associate’s Degree in Computer Electronic and Engineering Technology in 2010. 

His military education includes all Enlisted Professional Military Education schools. He attended the Aircraft Mechanic schools for the OH-58, AH-1, and UH-60 aircraft. Also attended the Aviation Accident Prevention Course, Unit Movement Officer Course, Support Operations Course, and completion of the Sergeants Major Academy. 

Previous military leadership assignments include D co. 2/147th AVN during Operation Iraqi Freedom, and C co. 2/211th MEDEVAC during Operation Enduring Freedom as First Sergeant. As a Command Sergeant Major he led the 834th ASB from December 2015 to present. 

CSM Esquivel’s significant awards include two Bronze Star Medals, four Army Commendation Medals, two Army Achievement Medals, the NATO Meritorious Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, and the Master Army Aviation Badge. 

CSM Esquivel is married to his wife Julie of 29 year and has one daughter Marisa, and three sons Juan Jr, Joshua, and Samuel.
